Hands On Learning Assistance (HOLA)!

What is HOLA?
  • HOLA! Is an online computer lab open 

    • Monday – Thursday from 10am – 2pm​

  • Purpose: ​

    • To increase support and access to technology training​

    • Provide equal access to services during COVID-19​

    • The HOLA! Volunteers are available to answer questions from people who sign on​

    • Virtual computer and basic technical support​

    • Available to anyone to receive 30 minutes of one-on-one support​

What does a CFAL Virtual Volunteer Do?
  • CfAL's Virtual Computer Lab provides one-on-one support to individuals working to build their computer skills.  A majority of visitors to the Virtual Computer Lab are beginner computer users, requesting additional support on how to use Word, Excel, Indeed and antivirus programs. ​

Volunteer Commitment/Expectations:
  • We ask that you commit to one year and a minimum of 2 hours per week​
  • 1 two-hour weekly shift
Volunteer Requirements:
  • Tech savy,
  • proficient in English  - and additional language
  • You must be at least 18 years old​

  • You will be background checked​

  • You will be required to complete training (rules of the program, Sexual Harassment Training, Mandated Reporting Training)​

  • It is mandatory for Volunteers to always keep their cameras on​

  • All sessions (main room and breakout rooms) will be recorded and kept on file for 7 years​

  • Volunteer time slots will be scheduled in advance (see current options below)​

    • Monday through Thursday​

    • 10:00am – 12:00pm​

    • 11:00am – 1:00pm​

    • 12:00pm – 2:00pm​
