To register for classes below, you MUST be 18 years or older.

Introduction to Computer Literacy

This is a 10.5 hour in-person computer class held over 3 or 4 days. Classes are offered at multiple locations.

 

Eligible participants may also receive a free refurbished computer after completing the class. You must attend each day to be eligible.

This program runs in partnership with Workforce Alliance/American Job Center and New Haven Adult Education.

Topics to be covered:

  • Introduction to Computers

  • Navigating Windows​

  • Introduction to Word

  • Creating Professional Resumes

  • Introduction to Excel and Creating a Personal Budget

  • Introduction to Canva

  • How to Maintain Your Computer System

  • Online Job Searching

Intermediate and Advanced Classes

You must be 18 years or older to attend. Classes are on a drop-in basis. No need to register.

  • Canva: 11/30/22 10-11AM

Design your own invites, fliers, posters and more with Canva. Learn to make Multi-slide presentations in our 1 hour class.​

  • Photo Storage: 12/7/22 10-11AM

Learn to free up space on your phone by storing your photos in cloud-based albums.​

  • Excel: 12/21/22 10-11AM, tips and trick to navigate Excel.

Advanced and intermediate classes are for those trying to bolster some more specific skills to take their computer use to the next level.

 

These classes run for one hour, 10am-11am and take place at 5 Science Park, 2C in New Haven CT (entrance is in the back of the building, across from Highville Charter School playground).
